Notes

  • UCS selection should be based on the “Max. Anchor Weight”. If it’s not enough, a bigger UCS must be selected.
  • One size bigger UCS can also be used with the same chain (e.g. Grade 70 / G7).
  • Since the swivel wears out, the warranty period is limited to 5 years. Perform visual wear checks at least once a year.
  • Tested by RINA (except UCS 32-1000). Safe Working Load = 0,5 × Breaking Load.
  • (*): Diameters are for the standard and one size smaller chains that can normally be connected. For even smaller chains: attach a larger end link, or order a modified swivel (e.g. UCS 20/12-300).

FAQs

The ULTRA Classic Swivel is designed to create a secure connection between the anchor and chain while allowing controlled articulation during deployment and retrieval. By enabling rotational movement, it can help improve anchor alignment and support smoother recovery operations.

The ULTRA Classic Swivel is designed for use with Side Pocket Anchors and stockless anchor types. Correct compatibility between the anchor, swivel, and chain is important to ensure reliable operation and proper load transfer throughout the anchoring system.

Articulation allows the swivel to accommodate changing angles between the anchor and chain during operation. This flexibility can help reduce mechanical stress, improve anchor positioning during retrieval, and support smoother movement throughout the anchoring process.

A one-piece machined swivel is manufactured from solid material rather than being cast. This approach can provide greater material consistency, precise dimensional control, and high mechanical strength, making it suitable for demanding marine applications.

The swivel should be capable of handling the loads generated within the anchoring system without becoming the weakest component in the assembly. A swivel with a breaking strength that exceeds the connected chain helps maintain system integrity and supports safe operation under load.

316Ti stainless steel combines excellent corrosion resistance with high mechanical strength, making it well suited for long-term use in marine environments. The titanium-stabilised alloy also offers enhanced durability in applications exposed to seawater and varying operating conditions.

The spherical joint design allows controlled rotation and movement as the anchor approaches the bow. This can help the anchor align more naturally with the retrieval system, improving seating behaviour and reducing the likelihood of awkward positioning during recovery.
